To support the introduction of Journal and Highly Cited Data, the module name for Journal Citation Reports and Essential Science Indicators supported on the InCites platform, Mimas, in conjunction with Thomson Reuters, have organised a series of *free* training sessions at UK academic institutions hosted around the UK.
Thomson Reuters have made better and brought together on one platform the analytical tools used by the research community to identify the most influential research: Journal Citation Reports and Essential Science Indicators. Thomson Reuters invite you to attend a course on the new 'Journal and Highly Cited' module to learn more about how the new versions provide improved ways in which to measure research performance at various levels.
*Please be advised that this course is available only to subscribers of the JISC Web of Science agreement for UK Education and is tailored for this audience.*
Course description - The course will cover the following:
Improved integration of indicators and metrics from ESI and JCR in Web of Science Core Collection.
Essential Science Indicators:
Essential Science Indicators production, uses and citation thresholds.
Identify highly cited institutions, countries and papers by research field.
Measure the performance of papers using ESI field averages and percentiles.
Identify high impact fields for institutions and countries.
Save reports and output in various formats.
Journal Citation Reports:
Explore category level data.
Explore journal level data and view new ways in which to create custom lists and rankings.
Create custom reports on selected journals.
Save reports and output in various formats.
Course materials and format.
The course will combine a mixture of demonstrations and structured hands-on practical sessions, in addition there will be opportunities for attendees to ask questions and provide feedback regarding the new features and interface.
