Institute for Psychohistory
     Information and articles on psychohistory, the science of historical
     motivation which combines the insights of modern psychotherapy with
     the research methodology of history and the social sciences.
Advanced Software Class
     Offers guides, articles and resources on subjects such as the security
     of computer networks, Internet standards, and agents.
HELIX: Higher Education Library Image eXchange
     A collection of over 52,000 images which are free for educational use
     by the UK higher education community. The collection comprises images
     of textiles, paintings, ceramics, metalwork, Chinese and Japanese art,
     Indian art, furniture, glass, photography, sculpture, costume, theatre
     and manuscripts, Picture Post magazine images (covering social history
     in Britain from 1938 to 1957), six areas of British history (the Irish
     troubles, history of sport, women's history, development of the mass
     media, UK politicians and Labour history), with editorial input from
     academics, journalists and archivists, and images from the James
     Valentine collection (a postcard archive of photography over the past

     Summary of hundreds of commercial feature films that refer to

MetaWeb: Metadata Tools and Services Project
     Project which aims to develop indexing services, user tools, and
     metadata element sets in order to promote the use and exploitation of

New Athenaeum: Internet Resource Guides Developed by Libraries
     A project which aims to offer a central registry for Internet resource
     guides developed by libraries and librarians worldwide, in order to
     establish a metaguide (a guide of Internet guides), to reduce reliance
     on search engines by presenting reviewed information in a concise,
     accessible format, to encourage the sharing and comparing of Internet
     resource management techniques, and to provide a wide array of
     authoritative sources selected solely for content. Subject
     classification is via DDC.
Special Collections and Archives: Repositories of Primary Sources
     Extensive list of links to over 2800 sites describing holdings of
     manuscripts, archives, rare books, historical photographs, and other
     primary sources for the research scholar.
Newbury House Online Dictionary
     Online US dictionary that contains over 40,000 entries, and provides
     definitions, sample sentences, idioms, and cultural facts.
Online Resources for Canadian Heritage: Canadian Museum of Civilization
     Collection of resources pertinent to Canadian heritage in the
     disciplines of archaeology, ethnology, history, folk culture and

Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy
     Philosophy encyclopedia that can be searched by keyword or browsed via

Wadsworth: Philosophy
     Offers information on postgraduate philosophy education, other

International Society for Gestalt Theory and its Applications
     Information about the scientific association established for the
     purpose of promoting the Gestalt theoretical perspective in research

Avesta Zoroastrian Archives
     Zoroastrianism is a religion founded in ancient times by the prophet
     Zarathushtra, known to the Greeks as Zoroaster. Zoroastrianism was the
     dominant world religion during the Persian empires (559 BC to 651 AC)
     and it is still practiced worldwide. Fire, as a symbol of "Asha" and
     the "original light of God," holds a special place of esteem in the
     religion. The complete text of the extant Avesta, the most ancient
     scripture of Zoroastrianism, is available online, as well as many
     Pahlavi scriptures and information about the Avestan language.

Antique Maps of Iceland
     All antique maps of Iceland (older than 1900) that are in the
     collection of the National and University Library of Iceland have been
     converted to a digital format and are accessible online. The

     there is zoom function to enlarge the images. Each image is
     accompanied by a commentary on the origins of the map, and there is a
     short summary of the cartographic history of Iceland
University of Georgia Historical Map Collection
