This one-day course provides a basic introduction to cataloguing
techniques - including the use of imported records
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is intended for anyone whose work includes some element of
cataloguing - whether from bought-in records or at a basic 'original
cataloguing' level. It is not intended for experienced cataloguers
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the day delegates will
* be able to identify the elements of catalogue record
* know how to check personal and corporate name headings
* be able to construct a simple catalogue record for basic monographs
and serials
* be able to understand a MARC-formatted catalogue record
* know where to find further information
