I was just about to reply with that very same link Phoebe!
I haven't actually visited info island myself, but I believe it to be of
great interest :)

Hello there
Now I'm in danger of showing my near complete ignorance of the thing,
but there is a Second Life library blog: http://infoisland.org/
It may be useful. It may not.
All I know about Second Life is derived from my friend Mike who "djs" in
a "pub" on there.

Subject: second life
A few of the boys I work with are becoming enthusiastic about second
life, which seems dangerous to me for aging men, but it did set my mind
working on what a library would look like in second life, rather than
the dublin core grep world we currently operate.
Is anyone making anything operational in any of the learning and
teaching and research environments, which we can demonstrate rather than
starting from scratch?
