Dear Beth,
At Loughborough some of us use the electronic voting system in our teaching with both small and large groups. We use them to either test students factual knowledge or to generate discussion.
Good points
- students tend to find it fun
- it changes pace & / or tone of the lecture
- students can be more open about their opinions as it is anonymous
Less good points
- you do have to think very carefully about question design
- it can be time consuming handing out and collecting the sets
Hope this helps

Hi all,
I just wondered if anyone had any experience of using classroom clickers =
at their institutions, either to support information literacy sessions =

clickers to support information skills sessions and we would be =

Just in case you haven't heard about clickers before, City University =

Hi Beth and Karl,
Classroom clickers sound a very good idea. Don't know if Beth just want t=
o=20
focus on higher education institutions or education settings in general? =
I know=20
a product called 'The 2Know' is available from Renaissance Learning Ltd. =
I=20
think this The 2Know is aimed for school pupils rather than university=20=
students. Have a look on their website=20
http://www.renlearn.co.uk/alphasmart_crs_overview.html and find out more=20=
about it.
Best wishes,
Susan

Thank you to everyone who responded to my query about Classroom Clickers -
the response has been overwhelming and thank you for all the offers of
additional help - I could well be in touch!
I will collate all the responses and summarise for the list as soon as I
can.
Thanks again
Beth
