Dear Sarah and colleagues,
Funny you should mention it - I received a similar package this week from a different supplier with the strapline "would you toss this coin to decide if a case is good law?".
I was also rather taken aback by this strategy, and will be donating the 50p to Comic Relief.
Best wishes,
Laura

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone else has had a letter from a particular supplier with
a flat pack charity collection box and a 50 pence coin attached to the
letter? The aim of it is to demonstrate that each download of a
particular resource costs less than 50 pence, which would be fine,
expect we don't subscribe to the resource in question. The idea is that
I construct the collection box, put in the 50 pence piece plus some of
my own money before shaking it under the noses of my colleagues and our
users.
To be clear, I have absolutely no issue with charity collection and have
no wish to start a debate, but this strikes me as a really, really odd
way to promote a resource, and if I'm honest, I'm a little taken aback
by this tactic. Am I alone in thinking that this possibly borders on
inappropriate?
Sarah
