Andrina is correct - we have disabled access control on our journals website temporarily while we process a large amount of consortial and other subscriptions through our subscriptions system (approximately 900k records). Regular access control rules will be reinstated as soon as possible.
We hope you understand that this is the best solution in the circumstances in order to avoid loss of access for subscribers and to ensure continued access to content.
On a related note we have made a separate decision to make the content of the transfer titles we took on for 2011 freely available until the end of February. Authentication for those titles will be reinstated on 1st March (see http://www.oxfordjournals.org/access_purchase/changes_2011.html).

Hi Kelly,
I have been told they have disabled authentication because they are making changes to their website. I was on the phone to OUP customer support last Friday and this is how I became aware of this information.
Best wishes

I've been doing some Athens/Shibboleth testing on all our journal platforms, and have come across something strange with Oxford Journals. In short, I'm not prompted to log in at any point when accessing articles. I doubt very much that Oxford have become open access without telling anyone, so I'm assuming there's a massive glitch somewhere.
Would any Oxford subscribers who have PCs sitting outside their network mind having a look and reporting back?
Thanks,
Kelly
