Many of you may have heard about the online professional development
course, 23 Things for Professional Development (cpd23), which ran last
summer.
The cpd23 course is being re-run this year, starting this Monday, 7th
May.
Participation is open to anyone who is interested, irrespective of
employment status, place of work, prior knowledge, or seniority. Those
who started the course last year are welcome to use this as an
opportunity to finish, and those who have not previously started the
course are equally welcome to join in.
The course aims to introduce a number of professional development
tools, both 'traditional' and social media tools, to explain their
relevance and usefulness, and to give participants an opportunity to
try them out. Participants are inivited to blog about the tools to help
reflect on their experiences and to share their ideas with others.
If you would like to take part in the course, please visit the cpd23
homepage, http://cpd23.blogspot.com, where you can find the course
schedule and the registration form
(http://cpd23.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/sign-up-for-cpd23-2012.html).
Registration is not required for participation, but will allow other
participants to find your blog. Last year, many participants commented
that the community aspect of the course was particularly valuable.
Don't worry if you don't currently have a blog - this is covered in the
first week of the course. Just visit http://cpd23.blogspot.com on
Monday 7 May to find out more.
Please pass this information on to any colleagues who may be
interested. If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
Best wishes,
Katie Birkwood
