italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Herb Addison ha scritto:
"For an article I?m writing on the appearance of the piano nobile in U.S.
buildings, usually designed by graduates of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in
Paris, I would like to be able to say when the term was first introduced.
Was it used during the Renaissance ? especially during the lifetime of
Palladio who employed the motif in his buildings (but did not use the term
in his masterwork, ?I Quattro Libri dell?Architettura?)? Or thereafter?"
Compare in:
Carlo Festini "I Trionfi Della Magnificenza Pontificia Celebrati Per lo
Passaggio ..." a Pagina 172
