italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Dear List-Members,
even with the benefit of irony, I personally find Dott. Chiamenti's
posting unnecessarily provocative and very inappropriate. I do not
wish to start an unpleasant series of responses and counter-responses
to this message (nobody needs to read this kind of correspondence at
the end of a long academic year), but I wish to thank Ricarda Vidal
for drawing attention to the petition, as this new UK policy may
seriously affect our universities (Italian Studies and any other
humanities department included) if implemented according the current
criteria. So far as I know, UK universities do not generally offer PhD
placements to murderers and drug-dealers (Tunisians, Italians, or of
any other nationality)--it must be a fantasy living in Dott.
Chiamenti's mind.
With best wishes,
Monica Azzolini
