Subject: Desperately seeking Italian teaching/support
Date: 25 May 2000 14:28
I am looking for help with Italian teaching. We have a group of 12
sixth-formers (art students) who have received some funding from a trust to enable them to go to Italy and attend art school there
for two weeks in February 2001. The money barely covers their travel, so finance is very tight, but we would very much like them to
have some coaching in basic Italian before they go (the usual range of survival topics, perhaps 12-20 hours or so).
I know that there used to be a programme of free Italian teaching offered I think by the Italian Institute, and I am e-mailing them
to see if this still runs. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this? Failing that, does anyone know of any Italian
teachers/tutors who would be willing to help out? Or of any Italian materials which would be suitable with a bit of self-help?
Sadly this came too late for the Lingua assistants application deadline: that would have been ideal.
All ideas gratefully received: many thanks.
Regards
