Hi Jim,
The Luttrel Psalter (British Library) has good 14th century
illustrations of ploughing. There's a virtual tour on the British
library's website at
http://www.bl.uk/collections/treasures/luttrell/luttrell_broadband.htm
(you need Shockplayer to run it).
We've got several good APs and other photos of R&F in Bucks, but
presumably you want South Yorks examples!
Best wishes,
Julia

Subject: Illustrations for Field visit poster sought
Hi there chaps. As the person not dealing with our SMR any more I don't
often get the chance to appear on this forum any more so...
A Countryside colleague here is planning a public talk and field visit
which will include looking at ridge and furrow in south Sheffield. She
is keen to have an interesting illustration for the poster, if possible.
Can anyone suggest a source for a medieval illustration of R and F, open
fields, ploughing in progress etc. that sort of thing. Got anything in
your SMR/HER that would suit?
All suggestions gratefully received.
Ta,
Jim
