Norfolk Museums & Archaeology Service
Norfolk Landscape Archaeology, Gressenhall, Dereham
ASSISTANT RECORDS OFFICER
£ 14,817 - £16,515 per annum
The Norfolk Historic Environment Record includes an HBSMR database of 38,000 records and the Norfolk Air Photo Library with 85,000 images. Last year more than 1700 new records were created, 2200 records were enhanced and there were 900 enquiries. Much of the new data is currently generated by our National Mapping Programme project and our work recording portable antiquities (17,000 objects p.a.).
We are looking for an archaeologist to assist with the development of the Norfolk HER. This permanent position includes data entry (text and GIS polygons) and dealing with enquiries. You will have a degree in archaeology or a related discipline, and keyboard, database and communication skills. Previous experience of HERs, HBSMR and GIS would be highly advantageous.
