but don't you think you should look at risk/benefit rather than just risk?
Myocrisin is hardly ever used as a new prescription any more because there
are now better agents but in its time did things that hardly any others did.
Also death rates reported rarely took into account the higher death rates of
RA - same risk as 3 vessel coronary artery disease or NHL

On a per prescription basis, injectable gold (Myocrisin) probably has the
highest associated death rate of any prescribed medicine (in patients who
were not already dying)
If you want a scare, look at the yellow card data for statins.
