Maybe they should not be . Trouble is they look sufficiently odd to confuse
both Adrian and Me. Are they exactly as the designer intended or are they
something not being rendered properly? I suspect the former.
And to pick up the other theme in this thread what we want is "form fit for
function" - which is what I always understood good design to be.

I didn't even realise those boxes should be clickable! They aren't for me
in Firefox or IE. But the menus top and bottom are, and work, in both. Are
we sure that those boxes are supposed to do something?
