Lecturer in German (vacancy ref. 12768)
The Department of German within the School of Modern Languages invites
applications for a lectureship in any field of German studies from the 18th
century to the present day. Preference may be given to candidates with a
strong interest in history, nineteenth-century studies or film, but it is
likely that you will have an interdisciplinary approach to teaching which
encompasses literary and cultural studies. The post is planned to commence
from 1 September 2007. You will have completed a doctorate, be publishing
in peer-reviewed journals and demonstrating research potential of
international standing. You will have excellent written and oral
communication skills in English and German, both to a level of native or
near-native competence. Teaching experience at University level is
essential. You will also be required to assume administrative and pastoral
responsibilities as directed by the Head of Subject.
Grade : Lecturer Grade B
Salary : £29,716 - £38,772
