The Greek root "pseudos" means false, and this is exactly the
intended use in many words prefixed with "pseudo-." However,
according to the OED, "pseudo" can also mean "apparent" or "similar",
and, in this sense, the "pseudo" in "pseudosection" or "pseudobinary"
would convey the desired meaning.
Perhaps we should worry about the section part? Aren't
"pseudosection" and "pseudobinary" simply verbal shorthand for the
more formal (correct?) "pseudobinary section?"
