Mithra,
To create your bvals file manually just edit the bvals file so that it says
0 1000 1000 ... till you have 1000 25 times.
Peace,
Matt.

Subject: [FSL] bvec and bvals files for DTI
Hello,
I have been trying my hands at analyzing DTI Data. We have a 3T GE
Signa scanner.
The parameters we used for aquisition are: B = 1000. 25 directions.
The first image was a T2 Image.
I am stuck in the step of getting the bvec and bvals file.
I used MRIConvert program to convert the data. I did get the nifti
file, bvec and bvals text files. But the bvals file contains all
zeros. Hence the Anisotropic image from DTIFit step (dti_FA) seems to
have zero intensity through out.
The bvec file did have some values. It had 3 rows with 26 columns. The
entire first column was zero. The remaining 25 columns (for all the 3
rows) had some values.
I tried using the dcm2nii program too. This one just created the Nifti
file. This did not create the bvec/bvals files.
I am not sure if I was doing things right. Are there any other ways to
get the bvals and bvec files.
Thank you for your help in advance.
Regards,
