EUROPEAN SUMMER SCHOOL
EU Law and Policy on Immigration & Asylum
14th EDITION ORGANISED BY THE "ODYSSEUS" ACADEMIC NETWORK FOR LEGAL STUDIES ON IMMIGRATION AND ASYLUM IN EUROPE
Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I have the honour, on behalf of the Odysseus Academic Network, to inform you about the 14th edition of our Summer School on "Immigration and Asylum Law and Policy of the European Union", that will take place in the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Brussels (Belgium) from 30 June to 11 July 2014.
The classes give a global vision of the immigration and asylum law and policy of the European Union. They are conducted by academics, among the best specialists in this field, from the member universities of the Odysseus Academic Network, which is represented in all Member States of the EU, and by high-ranking officials from the European Institutions (Commission, Parliament, ...). The Summer School provides the opportunity to live in a unique European environment and to tackle the most recent developments in this area. It encourages networking with around one hundred participants active in the field. Over the last 13 years, the Summer School has gathered almost 1600 people from diverse nationalities and backgrounds (national, European and international civil servants, NGOs' representatives, lawyers, professors, researchers, PhD candidates, judges, social workers, advanced students, etc.).
In order to enable participants in full-time employment to attend, the classes are mainly held in the afternoon, between 14.00 and 18.30. Each class is given separately in French OR in English depending of the choice of language made by participants. Interested candidates are strongly advised to submit their applications by using the registration form available on the website of the Network as soon as possible because of the limited number of places available. Additional information is available in the attached folder or on our website: http://www.ulb.ac.be/assoc/odysseus/Summer2014UK.html [Moderator's note: please view the website for additional information.]
I also invite you to visit our website to discover the certificate that we organize as a one-year programme in order to gain an in-depth knowledge of the subject: http://www.ulb.ac.be/assoc/odysseus/Certificate14.htm.
On behalf of the Odysseus Academic Network, I hope to have the pleasure to meet you at the Summer School or at our Certificate. I would be extremely grateful if you could forward as largely as possible the present email to any person who could be interested in order to help us to promote our programmes, which are completely self-financed.
Sincerely yours,
Prof Philippe DE BRUYCKER
Coordinator of the Odysseus Academic Network
