In OJ C89 E/103 , dated 20/02/01 Mr Fischler, on behalf of the Commission, stated that use of the term "Parmesan" for products not in conformity with Reg 2081/92 and not coming from the protected designation of origin "Parmigiano-Reggiano" will be prohibited.
We understand that there may be a challenge ongoing surrounding this point or about "parmesan" cheese and what products can be given this term.
Can anyone help with further information about such a case being brought?
Many Thanks,
