THE HOTEL RESORT
The Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort in Honolulu is the site for IPMM'99. This
5-star facility is located at the opposite end of Waikiki Beach from the
Diamond Head volcano. The resort has four main towers with over 2500 rooms.
There are two main Conference centers and we will be allocated one entire
facility in the Tapa Tower.

The site occupies 20 acres on the beach and has a private lagoon for a very
quiet retreat from the "madding crowd". There are over 20 restaurants on
site and a shopping center with over 80 shops and boutiques. The rooms are
all newly-renovated and exquisitely decorated.

Perched on the Western end of Waikiki Beach, this spectacular resort boasts
breath-taking views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. Accommodations at
Conference rates have been reserved in the Tapa Tower which also houses all
Conference facilities. The Rainbow Tower is also available for accommodation
at higher rates. The grounds of the resort contain restaurants ranging from
fine dining to a poolside bar. An extensive shopping center is available on
the main level with several swimming pools and access to the beach and a
private lagoon. Despite its busy lobby and location, one can find many
quiet, secluded spots to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and sunshine.

Room rates ($US) are as follows:

Early-Bird Registration $101 single/$131 double
Gardenview $140
Oceanview (partial) $170
Oceanview $190

Suites are also available on request.

On-line hotel reservations over the InterNet through our web site is
available <http://mining.ubc.ca/ipmm>.

Companions' Program
An extremely interesting Companions' Program has been organized with tours
and events for the entire family. The program includes one ticket to each of
the Conference Reception and Banquet and the 3 conference lunches. Tours
include the U.S.S. Arizona and Pearl Harbor Memorial Site, a catamaran
snorkeling visit to the Waikiki reef, Sea Life World and a Bus Tour of Oahu.
For children, lei-tying lessons and Hawaiian cultural activities, beach
activities and a miniature golf tournament.

Companions' Program cost: $250 US

EXHIBITION
An Exhibition is planned for companies and research organizations to
demonstrate their products or services to the delegates. If your business is
Intelligent Process Control, Intelligent Software Solutions, Robotics or
Intelligent Methods of Manufacturing, then you should plan to exhibit at
IPMM'99. To reserve a booth, FAX the IPMM'97 Conference Secretariat at
604-822-5599. Alternatively you can reserve over the InterNet at
<http://mining.ubc.ca/ipmm>.

The cost of an 8x10 booth is $950 US which includes admission for two people
to all conference events, all lunches and a copy of the Conference
Proceedings and CD-ROM. Note that this cost is cheaper than 2 separate
conference registrations combined so setting up an exhibit from your group
is extremely worthwhile.

For more information please contact our Exhibition Chair, Debbie McCoy at
