The discussion gains momentum. That is good. It looks like that at this
point it is most important to explore is a theory of design possible, and
if yes, how it is possible. This might provide us with better grounds to
evaluate the feasibility of working within one or another paradigm.
On the ground of some past explorations and the explorations of a number
of researchers, I would propose as a starting ground the theory of action.
(I mean human activity, theory of human activity).
A number of researchers have worked in that perspective in the 1960's
-1980's and their contributions are probably most substantial.
Simon's views are also, to some degree, action based or action bound.
As far as H. Simon, Gerald Nadler, and the rest, I still have not met
something better. If some one have come upon better alternatives, please,
