In your last post to the list, you were unable to evaluate whether I'd
characterized Singer's writings accurately. That was fair. It appeared,
however, that you hadn't read the material at that time.
Now, though, you're agreeing that I've mischaracterized his position, on
the basis of Judy's as yet unsupported claim. You're also agreeing that
the many disability groups around the world who've opposed Singer's
viewpoint have mischaracterized his work, and that they've done so for
less than honorable reasons.
So I'm wondering:
Have you read Singer's work? Can you explain clearly why disability
activists around the world are wrong in their understanding? Thus far,
the criticisms of these activists have mostly been ad hominem attacks; if
so many of us are wrong, there must be a way to explain that.
If you haven't, why not? You clearly think it's an important enough issue
to take a stand on, and I agree with you. Isn't it also important enough
to understand before taking a "side"?
