In http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/metadata/dcmi/dc-xml-guidelines/ there are
examples where xsi:type is used to specify encoding.
For example in section 5.3 :
<dc:identifier xsi:type="dcterms:URI">
and
<dc:subject xsi:type="dcterms:DDC">
However the key to making this work is apparently in the parent schema
where the proper DC schema is declared, but the parent schema in the
example is fictitious (http://example.org/myapp/schema.xsd), i.e. it
doesn't exist so you can't see which DC schema is supposed to be declared.
I can't make this work (apparently because I can't figure out the right dc
schema to declare in the parent schema). Can someone please point to (or
post) an example of a schema where xsi:type is used (sucessfully) in this
manner.
Thanks.
