Great Writing 2008
The eleventh Annual International Conference for Creative Writing will
take place on 27th-29th June 2008, at the new National Institute for
Excellence in Creative Industries (NIECI) building, overlooking the Menai
Straits in beautiful North Wales.
All suggestions for presentations (1 person), or panels (3 people), are
very welcome.
Keynote speakers include Professor Rob Pope, presenting the workshop:
"Holy Writ Rewrit: the Pope and All Comers versus God"
Professor Rob Pope, author of "Creativity: Theory, History, Practice"
(Routledge) and "Textual Intervention" (Routledge), among many other
books, leads a keynote workshop on the practice, appeal and perils of
rewriting the greats. Join the written and the re-written in a workshop
exploration of canonising and re-canonising, creation and re-creation!
Ideas for critical presentations might include papers relating to:
creative writing teaching methods and techniques;
issues in creative writing research;
history and context;
structure, style and technique;
technology;
aesthetics and the writing arts,
creative writing and the other arts.
contemporary writers and their work;
