Hello all
We write with an update on Pilgrim CHAT, due to be held in Santiago 8-7 November 2021. The Standing Committee met recently and we’ve reached the decision that – sadly - we can't go ahead with an in-person meeting this year given the continuing infection rates and ethical issues around vaccine inequality and international travel.
I hope you all agree that we came up with a great plan B last year with festivalCHAT! We're now working on plans for an alternate Pilgrim CHAT. The theme of pilgrimage and movement will stay the same this year, we’ll just do it slightly differently. We are conscious that many people are, by this point, experiencing screen and Zoom meeting fatigue and we're taking this into consideration when drawing up an alternate concept, one that will involve spending time away from laptops, tablets, and work stations. To misquote Laurie Lee, we hope to Walk Out One CHATwinter Morning. In other words, it won’t be a long Zoom conference.
So please bear with us, and support us, while we – again - draw up our revised program. We’ll send further updates as soon as we can.
Best wishes,
The CHAT Standing Committee & Pilgrim CHAT organising team
