Hi All,
We have been dealing with an slightly odd complaint regarding some watery
orange liquid found under a householders solum, which they are requiring to
empty once every two to three weeks.
The liquid is best described as a watery slightly orange colour which has a
strong oily type smell, but when tested at the lab is was negative for
Kerosene, Petrol or Diesel but they did say it was an unidentifiable
petroleum compound.
The next door neighbour does have a heating oil tank in their garden but I
am not sure if this is the likely culprit of the problem as the householder
has only noted it being present under the floorboards not in the garden
area or anywhere else in the garden.
Is this likely to be heating oil, if so is it common for it to be a watery
orange colour? or is this likely to be some form of contamination entering
into the supply, sort of like rust? if it is likely to be heating oil, why
wasn't it picked up as Kerosene at the lab?
All suggestions welcome.
Thanks
