Please do visit the blog and take a look at the PDF Draft version of the Statement which sets out how libraries will use tag 583 & sub fields to indicate their intention to retain resources.
Dear all,
Apologies for cross posting.
Sent on behalf of Stuart Hunt (LHCAB Chair)
This week, the Jisc Library Hub Community Advisory Board (LHCAB) is issuing a statement proposing that libraries adopt a consistent approach to the recording of monograph retention commitments. This will enable Jisc Library Hub services to develop tools to support a step change in the collection management of monographs by the community, surfacing the data in Library Hub Compare.
Following a short community consultation in June 2019, the LHCAB aims to drive forward development and adoption of a methodology to capture retention information. The statement has been shared with the RLUK and SCONUL Boards and their respective collection strategy networks as well as the CILIP Metadata and Discovery Group and the British Library.
More details about the specifics of the proposal can be found in our blog post.
