Dear CHIME folk,
We're very pleased to announce the call for the CHIME Annual One-day Music and HCI Workshop on 4 December!
If you have work related to this area, whether that's work-in-progress or recently completed, we'd love to hear from you. It should be a great space to bring people together and share research.
See below for a plain text version of the call for abstracts, or see the website for a slightly more legible version of the text:

Please feel free to post this call to your networks and colleagues as appropriate.

Call for abstracts
We invite you to submit an abstract for a talk, demo, video or poster in Music and Human-Computer Interaction (interpreted broadly) at the CHIME annual 1-day Workshop on 4 December 2023. The event will include a mixture of talks, participative demonstrations, posters and panel discussions.
This will take place in and around the Hub Lecture Theatre, at The Open University, in Milton Keynes, UK.
This is an opportunity to share and hear the latest research; network with peers; get hands-on experience with participative demos; and share your work and interests with representatives from music-interaction-related industry and charities.
New as well as more-established researchers are welcome, and researchers from all parts of the UK are encouraged to attend. If you are keen to come but cannot attend for financial reasons, please contact us - CHIME has limited funds available for reasonable travel and accommodation costs where these cannot be covered locally. This event is aimed primarily at those in the UK, but if you are more remote and strongly interested, then please get in touch.
Call for contributions
We invite you to submit an abstract for a talk, poster or demo, on research in Music and human-computer interaction (interpreted broadly), either on completed work or work-in-progress.
Submissions should consist of an abstract (1 page A4), using the word or latex templates provided on the website, sent to [log in to unmask] and [log in to unmask], with subject header ‘CHIME Annual Workshop’. Please also give the following information about your presentation:
- Authors
- Title
- Abstract
- Preferred category (talk/poster/demo)
Accepted abstracts will be included in proceedings published on the CHIME Website. The final published proceedings will observe a post-proceedings process, so that authors can incorporate workshop discussion and feedback into a final published extended abstract.
Videos and Demos - Subtle aspects of music interaction can be difficult to communicate in exclusively written formats, we therefore consider videos and demos to be a first-class mode of research communication. All video and demo submissions should nonetheless be accompanied by an abstract for publication.
