hello - I am in a rare online moment for me as i must rely on all night internet cafes - But I think Chris' pan-gloss on post avant post-conflict poetries of now needs to be questioned. It is of course from the point of view of publisher;
but only some poets are publishers, and in fact, I think, such generous visions may not be conducive to writing. Feeling under duress, feeling hard done by and excluded, feeling in conflict may well urge many on - This popular idea of "community" that appears now particularly in US discussions, also implies communities competing; and a canker-textual hatred doesn't seem like an unremitting ill if it leads to good and interesting poetry.
In lusty hate-filled beds the poets writhe
And yet their projects may bring tender tithe.
i may not be able to respond if this comment receives any comment as i am mostly not anywhere near a phone-line at the moment.
