Thanks Paul,
If I go to System Admin -> System Settings and set "Allow Guest Access to Courses" to "Do Not Allow" then the "Preview" button disappears. The message "You are a guest on the following courses:" remains on the users home page but when that user clicks on any of the courses they are enrolled on as a guest they get a message: "Access Denied Access to this resource is prohibited. Login as another user or cancel this operation"
Any ideas very much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Sonya

I think 'Preview' is a system wide feature that you can turn off.

Subject: Guest access help please
Hello,
I'm fairly new to Blackboard and am a bit confused by the guest feature.
I would like to give academic staff read-only access to all our Blackboard courses (as well as instructor access to those they are teaching). I would also like to give students read-only access to courses that they have been a student on in the past, or will be in the future.
I tried adding a member of staff as a guest on a course, and enabling guest access on that course. This seemed to work well - they got a new box on the home page saying "You are a guest on the following courses:" and the course appeared. However, anyone else registered on Blackboard could also access the material by clicking the "Preview" button next to the course name.
I'm sure there must be a simple explanation - what am I doing wrong? How does everyone else manage this issue? (is there another role other than guest that is more appropriate?)
Many thanks,
Sonya
