Heritage Project Evaluator(s)
Becoming Brent Project
Brent Museum and Archives
Libraries, Arts & Heritage Services
April 2024

Introduction to Brent

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

Introduction to Becoming Brent

With National Lottery Heritage Fund investment, Brent Museum and Archives are undertaking a programme called, Becoming Brent. A key element of this project will be a comprehensive evaluation.

Becoming Brent marks the centenary of the British Empire Exhibition. Wembley Park and Wembley Stadium were built to host the British Empire Exhibition and welcomed 27 million visitors during 1924 and 1925. Becoming Brent will be a series of events exploring the impact of the British Empire Exhibition in Brent, and how Brent bears the imprint of Britain’s colonial past.

The chosen consultant(s) will exhibit a proven track record in evaluating similar heritage projects, from benchmarking to crafting a final evaluation report for submission to the NLHF pending approval from our Becoming Brent project board and other key stake holders.
