My knowledge of Amstrad PCWs is that the two versions depended on the type of disk. Both disks looked alike but one was called an 8256 and the other (larger in disk capacity I think) was 9256 or 9512(?). There are definitely people out there who can transcribe for you - check out the PC mags or internet. If you have no luck then I may be able to help because I actually have a disk drive and conversion programme for the 8256 PCW disks. It's not hooked up to my PC at the moment (my 1640 Amstrad!) but I could probably arrange to do that if you don't find anyone quicker. If you've got the larger capacity disks then I'm afraid I can't help.
Best wishes
