News Release

Chief Executive appointment
Release date: 2 February 2004

ALM London - the new regional agency for London's archives, libraries and
museums - has appointed Graham Fisher as its first Chief Executive.

For the last year Graham has been Director of the London Libraries
Development Agency. Prior to joining the LLDA Graham was the Regional
Planning and Partnership Manager for the Legal Services Commission - London
Region where he was responsible for developing the Community Legal Service
in London, and in particular worked on the CLS and social inclusion and the
development of regional strategy. Graham was also the London Regional
Director of FIAC for 6 years, leading the organisation through a period of
rapid and sustained growth.

Graham brings to the role extensive experience of cross-London strategic
working, as well as local government, the Citizen's Advice Bureau service
and adult education. He has held numerous trusteeship roles including 3
years as Chair of London Advice Services Alliance.

Acting ALM London Chair, Stephen Douglass, said "We are delighted that
Graham will be joining us as ALM London's first Chief Executive. We had an
excellent shortlist of candidates, but the interview panel agreed that
Graham stood out for his vision and innovation, his ability to establish new
relationships with stakeholders across London and his commitment to help
make services accessible for all sectors in the community"

Graham Fisher responded "I am tremendously pleased to be offered this
exciting new role. I really am looking forward to the opportunity of working
with the trustees of Archives, Libraries and Museums London, the staff as
well as our wide range of partners across London.

ALM London has been established to support the development of the capital's
archives, libraries and museums and the extension of their work into the
wider social and economic agenda for London. The Agency will formally start
operation on 1st April 2004.
