Dear Allstat,
Oncimmune is a small dynamic biotech company dedicated to developing blood tests for the early diagnosis of cancer. The company is a commercial spin-off operation of the University of Nottingham. Statistical support is provided to the scientific research, development and production activities of both our UK and US Company sites. The main application areas are assay development and clinical trials in the field of cancer diagnosis. As part of an expansion of this support, we now seek to recruit a Statistician or Assistant Statistician, depending on qualification and experience, reporting to the Senior Biostatistician. This is a permanent, full-time post located on the City Hospital campus in Nottingham, UK.
The role involves the statistical analysis of scientific data using SAS commercial software, particularly SAS/Stat and SAS/Graph. Other duties include extraction of data from Company database systems, providing general support to the use of other statistical applications and preparing presentation-quality reports. The computing environment is MS Windows and MS Office on the University of Nottingham network.
The candidate should be highly numerate, computer-literate and motivated, with a good working knowledge of MS Office, strong communication and organisational skills, a keen interest in science and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
Preferred experience (Statistician level): a mathematical, statistical or other relevant scientific degree, experience in statistical consultancy and programming experience in SAS or similar high-level language.
Supervision and training will be given at every stage.
To apply, please send your CV by post or e-mail and include a brief covering letter including your current situation and availability to:
