EXPOSURE AND RISK ASSESSMENT
POST DOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION
This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher in exposure and health risk
assessment modelling to join the new Department of Health-funded Toxicology
Unit. You will work jointly for the TH Huxley School of Environment, Earth
Sciences and Engineering, and the Department of Epidemiology and Public
Health, which have a major focus on environmental science, statistics and
epidemiology.
You will have a PhD, or equivalent, in environmental science, or related
discipline, and experience in environmental exposure assessment, including
monitoring and modelling, epidemiology, or health risk assessment with
emphasis on statistical aspects.
You will undertake modelling of human exposure, and uptake through
ingestion, of residues of chemicals in particular organophosphates, and
other pesticides, food additives, water contaminants and endocrine
disruptors. Familiarity with Monte Carlo modelling and other relevant
statistical techniques is an advantage; you will be an excellent
communicator/team player. The appointment is initially for 4 years, starting
salary up to £19,197 plus London Allowance of £2,134.
