Understanding uncertainty in human and machine visual perception
A 3-year Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position is available on a new interdisciplinary project in computer vision and human perception. The project is a collaboration between the National Physical Laboratory (www.npl.co.uk) and Newcastle University (Institute of Neuroscience, EECE, and ISRU), and funded by the EPSRC and NPL. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work both at NPL near London and in the Institute of Neuroscience. We seek candidates with strong analytical and computing skills, and a strong interest or experience in understanding vision and image processing. The project offers additional training in experimental design, image measurement and human psychophysics. Appropriate backgrounds are in physics, engineering, computer science or psychology, or related sciences.
