MRC Human Nutrition Research is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge
of the links between human nutrition and health. Applications are invited
for the following post:
Nutritional Epidemiologist/Biostatistician
Head of Nutritional Databases and Statistics Ref: HNR/HNDS
Applications are invited for an experienced nutritional epidemiologist or
biostatistician to take strategic responsibility for our Nutritional
Databases and Statistics Section. The main functions of this Section
include the development, maintenance and interrogation of specialised
databases on behalf of internal and external users, and the provision of
statistical and computing support to all aspects of work within HNR. The
Section currently comprises 3 nutritionists, 3 computer officers and
several externally-funded staff and visiting workers. The applicant will
also be expected to contribute to the scientific portfolio of the centre by
conducting high-quality, innovative research within the scope of activities
of HNR.
Applicants require a PhD or equivalent with at least 10 years experience in
nutritional epidemiology or biostatistics and a strong track record in
nutrition or health-related research. The appointment is at the MRC Band 2
level, salary range £25,000 - £60,000 per annum, with a starting salary in
the region up to £40,000.
