ADVERTISEMENT
Applications are invited for the position of research assistant/associate
in medical statistics within the Department of Primary Care and Population
Sciences, Royal Free Campus. The post is for 18 months and the successful
applicant will join a multidisciplinary team analysing data from the
British Regional Heart Study, a large longitudinal study investigating the
causes and natural history of cardiovascular disease and its complications.
Applicants should have a good first degree, with a postgraduate
qualification in statistics, (preferably in medical statistics). Interest
in the epidemiology of cardiovascular disease, as well as in the analysis
of large, complex datasets, would be advantageous. The ability to work
unsupervised as well as in collaboration with other members of a team is
essential.
Salary is on the University Research Scale (RA1A: salary from £19,460 to
£23,643 plus London weighting) and this post is expected to begin in
October 2004. Starting point and grade will be dependent on age,
