International University Bremen (IUB) invites applications for a
(non-tenured) Lecturer in Quantitative Research Methods in the Social
Sciences.
The successful candidate will possess a strong background in the
design, implementation and analysis of empirical studies in the social
sciences and have demonstrated the ability to sustain a successful
teaching and researcch career.
The appointee will be required to teach Quantitative Methods,
Statistics and
Secondary Data Analysis in the undergraduate programs within the School
of
Humanities and Social Sciences. Hence, applicants should hold or be
about to hold a Ph.D. in a
related area such as sociology, political sccience, psychology,
education or applied statistics.
A basic understanding of qualitative research approaches and an
interest as well as a
willingness to expand on this knowledge is expected.
IUB offers an international environment of excellent students and
faculty. As the language of instruction at IUB
is English, proficiency and teaching experience in English are a
prerequisite for the position.
Salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The
position is non-tenured and initially limited in duration to two years.
The annual teaching load is
four
courses at three hours each. Preferably, work at IUB should begin 1st
of January
2007.
