The subject of this one-day meeting is the role of statistics in the important
and developing field of pharmacogenetics. The meeting will start with an
introduction to the area. In particular, the focus will be on the application
of statistics and on challenges for statisticians in the collection and analysis
of pharmacogenetic data. This introduction will be followed by talks about
specific applications of new methodology from statisticians in academia and the
pharmaceutical industry.
The meeting will be of interest to statisticians who would like to know more
about pharmacogenetics or are already working in this area, whether in the
academic, public sector or industry environment. Those from a background of
genetics or bioinformatics with an interest in the application of statistics in
pharmacogenetics would also find the meeting of interest and would be very
welcome.
