For those new to our PrOMs:
The aim of Pre-Ordinary meetings is to make the papers read at the Royal Statistical Society more accessible to students, young statisticians and those not familiar with the area discussed in the read paper. The meetings are held just before the Ordinary meetings and consist of two 30 min talks, one providing introduction to the area covered by the read paper and discussion of current problems, and the other giving an alternative presentation of the read paper.
Preliminary schedule:
3:00-3:30pm Alex Bottle, presenting case examples arising in the Dr Foster Institute Monitoring System
3:30-4:00pm David Spiegelhalter, introduction to ratings and surveillance
4-5pm - Tea and coffee
5pm RSS Ordinary Meeting
With best wishes,
Oliver Ratmann
On behalf on the Young Statisticians Section, Royal Statistical Society
