Software Developer / Software Programmer
£25,368 to £29,222 per annum + 6 weeks annual leave + optional final salary
pension
We need a creative software developer with a good knowledge of
object-orientation and excellent programming skills (e.g. C/C++), as well as
experience of Solaris, Microsoft, and Linux platforms, to work on an
internationally renowned software project at the forefront of statistical
modelling. The software developer will assist in the further development of
the BUGS software while providing general programming support and guidance
to the Unit's scientists.
You must have a good understanding of object-orientation. You will also have
good communication skills, and a degree or equivalent together with some
experience as a professional programmer. Some knowledge of statistics would
be desirable, as would experience of open-source software development.
