HELP SHAPE GOVERNMENT POLICY
In every aspect of British life - from crime and drugs to immigration to
building better communities - successive governments depend hugely on high
quality research and statistical analysis to guide and inform national
policy-making. That's where the Home Office Research, Development and
Statistics team (RDS) play a critical role. It's our responsibility to
gather, analyse and interpret the information that forms the foundation for
decisionmaking affecting every single UK resident.
Specifically, you will contribute to targeting and reducing crime and the
fear of crime, or you may contribute to the management of immigration in the
interests of Britain's security, economic growth and social stability. You
may help educate the public on their real risks of crime, as reported by the
British Crime Survey. You may also produce high profile National Statistics
in the areas of crime or immigration, to provide essential data for policy
and operations in these areas.
We are looking for more than first-rate research skills and have the
