Jokes aside, Rocky, I believe you have a point. It is not going to be
simply one night; a report on the radio today suggested that Millennium
(from now on I shall simply be typing MM) celebrations would be starting
in September.
Even at a conservative estimate there will be at least a fortnight of
partying for MM and we will find ourselves seriously stretched, if the
appalling woman full of vodka screaming at us that she may die of her
'popped hernia' at 01:55 is anything to go by (and no I don't care if you
can identify her) while we were resuscitating a very sick child.
Unless the medical profession, and in particular A&E Consultants start a
rumble now about this, we will be assumed to be in quiet complaisance once
more. After all, most of our colleagues weren't around at midnight this
year and will resist attempts to get them to play next year. Danny, are
you there? I think we have an opportunity.
Best wishes,
Rowley Cottingham
