You can now nominate an individual or a team for either of two top awards.

The Tony Kent Strix Award is given in recognition of outstanding practical innovations or achievements in the field of information retrieval in its widest sense. The nomination could highlight achievements in an application or service, or an overall appreciation of past works from which significant advances have emanated. Nominations should reach UKeiG no later than Friday August 26th - full details of where to send your nomination and of the information which you should include in the nomination are given in the full call, which  can be found at http://www.cilip.org.uk/uk-einformation-group/awards-bursaries/tony-kent-strix-award/2016-call-tony-kent-strix-nominations and further details of the award and a list of previous winners is also available at http://www.cilip.org.uk/uk-einformation-group/awards-and-bursaries/tony-kent-strix-award.

The Tony Kent Strix Award is sponsored by the Royal Society of Chemistry Chemical Information & Computer Applications Group and the Tony Kent Strix Annual Lecture at the end of October is sponsored by Google.

There is also still time to send in your nominations for the UKeiG Jason Farradane Award. The closing date is Friday 9th September. The Award is made to an individual or a group of people in recognition of outstanding work in the information profession - for raising the profile of the information profession within an organisation or field of endeavour in a way; for raising the awareness of the value of information in the workplace; for demonstrating excellence in education and teaching in information science; or for a major contribution to the theory and practice  of information science. The call can be found at http://www.cilip.org.uk/uk-einformation-group/2016-call-jason-farradane-nominations and full details of the award and previous winners can be found on the award web page at http://www.cilip.org.uk/uk-einformation-group/awards-and-bursaries/jason-farradane-award.

If you are unsure whether you have a valid nomination the list of recent winners and their achievements which can be found from each award page should help to clarify the criteria. It is not too late to nominate an individual or a team who are doing something wonderful for the information!
