Title:
The delights and dilemmas associated with sending audio over networks
Abstract:
Audio networks hold out the promise of distributing audio over large
distances, sharing audio resources, and allowing for precise and simple
audio device connection management and control. It was with this
somewhat starry eyed viewpoint that we embarked on a project to share
campus music resources. This talk will describe these initial attempts,
and then describe the path we have taken, together with others in the
field, to research and implement methods for transporting, controlling
and synchronizing audio on networks.
Future C4DM Seminars:
Johanne Devaney and Michael Mandel (Ohio State University), Friday 2 May
2014, 2:00pm
Matt McVicar (AIST Japan), Monday 12 May 2014, 3:30pm
