The school is supported by the EU Tacis-Tempus JEP-10353-97 and it is
organized by Kyiv University; Ume{\aa} University; Stockholm University;
University of Helsinki and the Economics and Mathematics Center (Kyiv)
as the Satellite Meeting to the Third Scandinavian-Ukrainian Conference
in Probability and Statistics which will be held on June 8-12, 1999,
Kyiv, Ukraine
The main topics of the School are:
- Mathematical models in finance and insurance.
- Time series in economics, finance and insurance.
- Analytical, simulation and statistical methods in the risk theory.
- Mathematical methods in life and non-life insurance.
- Mathematical models in micro- and macroeconomics
- The teaching methodology of the actuarial and financial mathematics.
The lectures of prominent specialists from Scandinavia, Russia and
Ukraine are planned as well as a round table and seminars with
presentation of short communications of participants.

The working languages of the School are Ukrainian, Russian and English.

The venue of the School will be the Kyiv University which is located in
centre of Kyiv. The first meeting of the School will be held on
Tuesday, 8 June at 13.00.
The joint secretariat of the School and the Conference will be located
in the Institute of Mathematics, and it will be open from 8.00 to 18.00
every day from Monday, 7 June to Saturday, 12 June. A registration desk
will be open in the Institute of Mathematics building on Monday, 7 June
from 12.00 till 20.00 and on Tuesday, 8 June from 8.00 till 17.00. On
Tuesday, 10 June and later the registration can be made in the joint
secretariat of the Conference and the School. The address if the
institute is: Tereshchenkivs'ka street, 3.
Proceedings of the School containing selected papers of the invited
lecturers and other materials will be published and distributed to the
participants of the School after the conference.
The Registration Fee for participants of the School is 10 US dollars. It
can be paid at the registration desk upon arrival. Students and
postgraduate students can attend the School free of charge.
