The Veterinary Laboratories Agency (VLA) is an executive agency of the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food (MAFF).
Within the VLA, at our Weybridge site in Surrey, there is an expanding group working on risk assessment and mathematical modelling within the areas of veterinary and human health. In the near future, we are likely to be recruiting a mathematical modeller and would welcome any preliminary enquiries/CVs/expressions of interest.
Suitable candidates should hold a first degree in a quantitative subject e.g. mathematics, statistics, engineering or physics. A post-graduate qualification is desirable as is an interest in biological systems. Experience of Bayesian methods and computer programming would be advantage but is not essential.
