Dear John,

The original Cockcroft and Gaault formuala (Nepron 1976  Vol 16 31-41)
as you can see has been around for a number of years, and it has been
taekn as read that the final answer is in ml/min.  This has been
reevaluated many times (eg Smith et al, DICP Ann Pharmacother 1990 25
169-177) and as I have mentioned before it has been used in therapeutic
drug monitoring for many years.  Why use ml/min.  One reason is that
creatinine clearance gives us an idea of how some drugs are cleared and
SI units or no, drug clearance is measured in ml/min or l/h.
